A quick, 15-minute presentation of basic Internet literacy skills was overwhelming popular with the C&I faculty a couple of weeks ago. By setting them up with a quiz, showing the new skills that we need to be using and teaching our students, I started the ball rolling that is giving ETIP the punch we’ve been looking for … faculty excitement about technology integration. Now I’m scheduled to present the material to several classes, submitted a proposal to speak about it at the Illinois Reading Council Conference, and I think this is just the beginning.
It’s fun to see something take off like this – it’s good to know that the information is reaching farther than a short presentation to 50 faculty. Thanks Alan November for being a real educator – caring about learning at all levels.
