Are You Right? Or Left?

Several bloggers have this on their site, but I couldn’t resist adding it to mine – maybe some of you will share this experience with those who read your blog, your students, your colleagues, etc.

When you click on the link below, you’ll see a figure. Your job is to decide which way the figure is rotating; clockwise or counter-clockwise.

Right or Left?

Here’s Funderstanding‘s assessment of these dominant sides of the brain:

Left Brain   Right Brain
Logical
Sequential
Rational
Analytical
Objective
Looks at parts
Random
Intuitive
Holistic
Synthesizing
Subjective
Looks at wholes

So, what did you find?

I saw clockwise, then could switch back and forth between the two directions. My husband, a history prof, and my Mom, a retired executive secretary, both saw clockwise first also. Nick could see both and go back and forth; my Mom could only see it one way. I wonder why?

Enjoy! Thanks Ryan Bretag for sharing this.
