Do you believe in … the power … of education

Are you one of the over 200,000 people who have viewed Dalton Sherman asking if you believe? If you haven’t seen the video yet, take a look:

I am very, very impressed with the poise and confidence of this 10-year old from Dallas. Beyond that, I am hopeful that his message will pull educators together and give us the poise and confidence to do the hard work of taking back our profession. We know what it takes to create learning environments where every student has the opportunity to flourish and become poised and confident like Dalton. Hint: it doesn’t have anything to do with high stakes testing.

Like most of you, I could go on and on … I’m stopping so you can take it from here.

  1. Very powerful. I’ve forwarded the link to my principal. We get pumped up the first week of school and then about this time, 30 year veteran teachers question why they came back for another year, new teachers wonder am I cut out for this, and those teachers with a few years under their belt start to fall into the same rut. Teachers need to be reminded how much they’re needed. Thanks for posting this!
